Do you want to create songs that make the audience gasp, cry, ponder, and laugh?
Do you want to stretch yourself as an improvised singer/songwriter?
This workshop will focus on using emotion as the heart of our songs and allowing characters to be changed by what we discover.
It's about creating powerful songs and channeling these emotions that are broken-hearted, joyful, fierce, soft, messy, and most of all heartfelt. The course has 8 weeks of training/rehearsal with a performance in week 9 of a cabaret of 'Songs from the Soul.
Attendance at the training nights are mandatory for the performance.

With a class size of 8 students, this course is designed to give each person an active and intensive experience.
Note: this course will require students to do work at home such as voice exercises.
Prerequisites: Impro Melbourne’s completion of our core courses (Spontaneity, Narrative Technique, Character Scene Work Formats and Styles), or equivalent improvisation and acting experience as determined by the Artistic Director.
