Stop playing yourself and start playing everybody else!
Characters are fun, challenging and essential when performing improvisation.
In this online Character course, you will learn how to develop a character through an exploration of your body, voice, emotions, attitudes, status and camera view.
We will explore how your character relates to the other characters and how they react within the context of the situation. How characters navigate their wants, needs, point of view, morality and relationships trigger the audience’s perception and fuel the emotional engine of the story. Make stories pop with interesting and powerful character choices.
At the end of this course, there will be a one hour showcase of the skills we have learnt during the term.
Prerequisites: Impro Melbourne’s completion of our core courses (Spontaneity, Narrative Technique, ), or equivalent impro experience as determined by the Artistic Director.
