Week Five Theatresports™: Hoof Hearted Takes The Lead

by Kevin Yank on 9 June, 2013 in Shows

A sold out audience witnessed the clash of the titans at our Queen’s Birthday Weekend Theatresports™, featuring the top four teams on the ladder! The time for ties was past: only one team would walk away with the lead toward a spot in this year’s Grand Final.

Hoof Hearted wins two weeks in a row, this time with a rubber horse head!

I watched tonight’s show from the scorekeeper’s chair, and below you’ll find my live-tweeted commentary from the whole match!

In short, all four teams demonstrated why they are the leaders of this season, but Hoof Hearted came out on top, finally breaking the tie for the top of the ladder it has shared with Citizen Wayne for the season so far. Not only that, but Citizen Wayne was eliminated in a nail-biting tie breaker before the final round! But don’t count the “Bingo Boys” out yet (any Bingo Board of Doom fans out there?)—Citizen Wayne may yet come back to win this season.

Here are the scores:

  • Hoof Hearted: 47
  • Suspenders of Disbelief: 45
  • Citizen Wayne: 32
  • Middlegameatry: 27

And here’s the ladder:

Hoof Hearted 3 3 0 0 9

* Win = 3 points, 2nd place = 2 points, 3rd place = 1 point.

Next Sunday, June 16th, it’s another packed night with five teams jockeying for position:

  • Double Denim: Anna Renzenbrink, Victoria Healy, Mike Bryant
  • Sky Tiger: Amy Moule, Merrilee McCoy, Josh Dore, Nick Gardiol
  • Super Mega Awesome Impro Based Theatre Team That Is Good: Jaime Cerda, Roland Lewis, Katherine Weaver, Sarah Kinsella
  • The Upper Somerton Aesthetic Society: Chris Broadstock, Jenny Lovell, Vicki Kyriakakis
  • Tie of the Tiger: Patrick Duffy, Nadia Collins, Kevin Yank
