Songprov performance course

Songprov! - No singing ability required. 
 
Join experienced musical improviser Brenna Dixon in this beginner workshop for musical improvisation and learn the fundamental skills necessary to create songs on the spot. Brenna will guide you through exercises that will boost your confidence and begin to develop your musical ear. You'll explore a range of song structures and styles, and learn techniques for creating lyrics on the fly. These skills can be applied to anything from jamming out songs in your kitchen to improvising full-length musicals on the spot.

This Songprov course is for students who have completed our core curriculum and are now looking to learn Songprov! 
 
Prerequisites: Impro Melbourne’s Spontaneity , Narrative, character, Scenework course or equivalent Impro experience as determined by the Artistic Director.

Teacher

Brenna is a supportive and enthusiastic teacher, always sharing her passion for art form with students. She has been teaching drama and improvisation since 2012, in Australia and overseas. Brenna has taught adults and children of all ages, and for companies including Brave Studios, The Decent People, New Zealand Improv Festival, and Monash University, just to name a few. Brenna teaches workshops on improvised Shakespeare, musicals, scene work and stage craft, but particularly loves introducing newcomers to improvisation.
