The Song of the Scene

with Brenna Dixon

This workshop asks improvisers to view songs as an extension of the scene that were created in and not as a separate entity. Through side coaching, participants will build on their ability to play committed characters, be changed by their scene partners, and respond emotionally. We will explore how to create a song that is truly born from the scene and instead of relying on a pre-determined structure, create the structure that suits this specific song.

Who’s it for?

Participants should have improvised songs before and have experience with improvising open scenes (scenes without handles or games).
