Singing an improvised song would seem impossible. There's the character you're playing, the location, the scenario, the pacing of the scene, the subtext, the theme, the connection, the platform, the tilt... and now the musician is playing and they're already three bars in and everyone's looking at you....
It's your song.
This is a workshop about that moment. About stepping into and claiming it. About trusting that everything you need is already here and how to gift yourself time, open your heart and just sing.
In this single day intensive, students will be guided in the craft of holding stage, exploring physical stillness and lyrical simplicity. We'll discover that how with just a few simple words and a guiding theme, quite complex songs can be created with relative ease. We'll jump into the technique of improvised counterpoint and harmonies, layered duets and tease out how to connect and communicate with the musician.
It's about being brave.
Being bold.
Songprov.
