DISDANCE - IMPRO mini FEST

An improvised performance full of Dance, Love, Loss and Distance

In the last few years the word distance was filled with many new meanings, references, thoughts, emotions and events. Social distancing was for some an act of responsibility, for some it was a painful loss, for some it was a bizarre relief. Certain places, people and relationships became very far away, with some we found new types of closeness. The pandemic related social distancing is far away from being the only distancing going on - the processes of polarization of society in terms of social and political topics as well as in wealth distribution are strongly shaping our lives. In this big restructuring of society and general chaos of life, what can we do? We dance! We dance over and around it and within it, we sweat, we move, we live!

A performance full of dance and sweaty bodies dealing with the topics of being close or far away. Like in a good clubbing party, dance can help us play with social structures, twist the hierarchies, flirt with people we otherwise wouldn’t dare to, meet each other in another very physical way, playfully bring out the topics that otherwise stay under the surface, breathe deeply and live alive!
