Theatresports™

"Laugh out loud moments during the performance, to the point of tear-inducing hilarity. It really is laugh-a-minute, unpredictable, unexpected entertainment. Don't miss out on this five star entertainment! Highly recommended, and great value too. I know we'll be making a return visit during this season." - Weekend Notes 2016

Impro Melbourne's Theatresports™ is back for another smashing season! Taken from the genius brain of Keith Johnstone, Theatresports™ delights audiences around the world with its ability to make the audience cheer like a sporting match, laugh like a hyena and shed a tear like Bridget Jones alone on the couch with a bottle of wine. Teams will be competing head to head in exciting rounds of improvised theatre based on audience suggestions.

Four sections are played: the 10 Minute Match, the Free Impro Round (a glimpse into the secrets of impro), the Danish Match (where the audience judges the scenes) and the Regulation Challenge Match (where the points are judged). Our teams will compete in a fast-paced, completely improvised competition over the course of the season until a winner is crowned on the Grand Final night. Sparks will fly in this fast-paced and action-packed game at the Melbourne Polytechnic’s David Williamson Theatre.

You never know what you might see at each exciting show! Theatresports™ is a show for all ages, and an absolute family favourite. Make sure you don’t miss out, book your seats today!
