5 Reasons Katherine Loves Teaching Spontaneity

by Jessica Pantou on 2 October, 2014 in Workshops
  1. I get to share my passion for improvisation with others.
  2. A lot of the exercises I get to teach help with listening. It’s amazing how often in life we think we are listening but really we’re not!
  3. I love getting adults to have fun. So often now as grownups we have “nice” and “good” times but rarely fun times! Having fun is crucial to getting the most out of life. Just Google the benefits of fun and you will find scientists agree.
  4. I get to see students grow and change. It’s a privilege to be part of that journey.
  5. I love teaching people to be in the moment. I think this is beneficial not just for impro but also in life. After all, you’re life’s happening right now, moment by moment, so being in the moment also means being more fully present in your life. You can’t put this moment off till tomorrow!

"You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching,
Sing like there's nobody listening,
Love like you'll never be hurt,
And live like it's heaven on earth."

— William W. Purkey
