“Amazing! I had a great experience and really appreciated learning all the impro wisdom!”
Scene Work is an exploration into creating an open scene. Scene Work teaches an improviser the technique and ability to identify the story and how to move the story forward.
Prerequisites: Impro Melbourne's Spontaneity and Narrative Technique course or other impro experience/training as determined by the Artistic Director - firstname.lastname@example.org
Students learn to
- Identify the *platform* in a scene
- Advance the scene / story
- Identify whose scene it is
- Raise the stakes in a scene
- Find an ending to their scenes
The course is designed to challenge improvisers to create scenes without relying on suggestions, games or gimmicks. To focus completely on what is happening, who they are with and have the tools to develop a scene.
