Term 3 - On Sale Now

Storytelling through Puppetry and Object Manipulation with Amy Moule.

One man's junk is another man's treasure, so the saying goes. In this workshop we will be transforming, manipulating and playing with everyday objects, junk and bits and bobs to create unique stories, characters, worlds and moments of wonder.

Participants will learn basic puppetry skills, object manipulation and ways of weaving this type of work into their scene work. There will be a sense of group creation in some moments and therefore a need to develop and hone skills in the whole body listening. Participants will be able to create characters, environments, and worlds to enable their stories and scenes to come alive in a way we don’t often see in ‘regular’ improvisation.

*Please note this will not be using pre-made puppets or traditional puppets but learning to animate objects through puppeteering.

About Performance Series

Performance Series is an in-depth and creatively challenging workshop experience. Over 9 weeks students will be introduced to, develop, rehearse and perform an improvised show!

The course is designed to challenge students in performance skills, improvisation technique and various aspects of creating and performing an improvised format.

Each Term offers a different Format. The formats have been selected to target different skill areas and provide a diverse and dynamic experience to the student.

On week 9, students will perform the format. After the workshop students receive individual written feedback on their performance and skill development.

What you will learn:

  • Stage Craft
  • What is the point and promise of a format for an audience
