Straight Man/Crazy Man

with Will Hines

This workshop is sold out.

Practice the classic “straight man/crazy man” template of scenes. One person has an unusual point of view, the other person speaks for the audience. Learn to be good at every part. Learn how to “call something out.” Learn how to have a good “why” without making too much sense.

Prerequisite: Spontaneity

Teacher

Will Hines has been a performer and teacher from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre since 2000. He currently performs weekly with his improv group The Smokes. Before UCB, he was a computer programmer and using those far more marketable skills he figured out that he's done 8000 improv scenes and watched at least 44,000 more. Too many, right? He's had small parts on television including shows like Broad City, Brooklyn 99, Inside Amy Schumer, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Community.
