Instructor Bios
An
obsessive improphile, Lliam Amor has
taught all levels of improvisation from beginners to advanced for over a
decade. He has a Bachelor of Education in Drama and Media from Deakin
University and a Post Graduate Diploma in animation from the Victorian College
of the Arts. He currently teaches Drama and Media at Deakin University,
Bundoora.
Emilie Collyer is
an experienced impro teacher. She also teaches drama and creative writing, in a
freelance capacity and as a teaching artist with the Victorian Arts Centre.
Emilie particularly loves encouraging students’ individuality and natural
spontaneity in performing and creative expression.
Sean Fabri has been teaching and improvising for many years in Australia and North
America, and his workshop participants range from children to adults, and
beginners to professionals. Sean is interested in the theory as well as the
practice of improv, so he can offer serious insights into humorous matters.
Leah Gabriel joined Impro Melbourne in 2003 and has performed with the
company in many seasons of improv including Theatresports™, The Impro Cave and
Unforseen Stories. Leah has trained in acting, performed, toured and
taught drama workshops in Melbourne, Edinburgh and Chicago.
A
fresh face to the teaching ranks of Impro Melbourne, Mark Gambino has taught improvisation and acting to various age
groups since 2004, from young people eager for an intro to impro, to seasoned
veterans of the live performance scene. An eternal student of life, Mark
believes that an experiential approach optimises students’ joy of impro.
For
six years, Jason Geary has been
teaching improvisation to adults and children around Australia and the world.
That doesn’t necessarily make him any better at teaching impro; it just means
many Australians and some foreigners were willing to listen to him. You should
too, he knows what he’s talking about
Sarah Kinsella has spent the last 10 years performing, teaching and touring with Impro
Melbourne in Australia, Singapore, Europe, Canada and America. In a workshop
with Sarah, you can expect there to be a lot of laughter. Sarah’s classes focus on spontaneity,
releasing the naughty child within us all and generally having fun.
Jenny Lovell has been involved in improvisation for 20 years as a teacher and performer. She
has performed and studied internationally with companies in San Francisco,
Seattle and Edmonton and done masterclasses with Keith Johnstone. Jenny also
teaches drama and improvisation with Monash University, St Martin’s and the
VCA.
Rama Nicholas has been acting and improvising for over ten years. She recently returned from
overseas where she performed impro and taught workshops in the United States,
Canada, Germany and Slovenia. Coming from an background in acting, Rama has a
passion for character, and creating emotional connections in a scene through
commitment and inspiration.
Tim Redmond has
been part of Impro Melbourne since 2003. He is a high energy performer and
instructor and his workshops explore the joy of leaping into the dramatic, the
comedic and the just plain odd, then gently appraising the little things that
made it all so much fun.
Anna Renzenbrink has been working with Impro Melbourne
for over 5 years, and has performed in Theatresports™, Late Nite Impro,
Unforseen Stories and The Cave. Anna has extensive experience
coaching and training Customer Service/Call Centre skills and encourages
self-awareness, along with a winning combination of creative and practical
skills.
Patti Stiles personal motto says it all: Inspire! Informed by a deep, intelligent and
perceptive understanding of her subject, Patti leads and teaches from the heart.
In demand worldwide as an improvisation performer and teacher, she ignites a
spark of enthusiasm and joy in students, fellow performers and audiences
wherever she appears.
Geoff Wallis has been a teacher and performer of
improvised theatre for twenty years. He has also written and directed many
seasons of improvised theatre. Geoff has a passion for driving narratives,
theatrical characters and taking big risks. He is also an ardent fan of
technical proficiency and helping students find their individual style of
playing.
