Schools Program

Since 1996 Impro Melbourne has been offering improvisation performances and workshops to schools in Melbourne and Regional Victoria. We are committed to developing the understanding of improvisation and believe strongly in the beneficial skills it develops in young people such as communication, trust and self-confidence.

For the primary level, Impro Melbourne is pleased to offer customized Primary Workshops for years 5 and 6.

For secondary level we continue to offer Impro Zone! (previously IMPRO In Schools, Theatresports™ In Schools) an exciting and motivating performance that illustrates and inspires improvisation. We are also delighted to announce our new show Losing The Plot a humorous and thought-provoking way to comprehend the elements of story and genre. Plus we offer tailor-made Secondary Workshops for schools looking for more advanced impro tuition.

All our work focuses on engendering a spirit of being in the moment, inspiring your fellow performers, listening, collaboration and above all, fun. For pure entertainment, or to introduce and develop skills in drama and improvisation, the Impro Melbourne team’s experience, training, insight and skill ensure excellence.

Impro Melbourne is licensed with the ITI (International Theatresports Institute) to perform and teach Theatresports™. We are the only company in Victoria licensed to do so.
