Losing The Plot
Impro Melbourne’s Losing The Plot is a humorous and thought-provoking way to comprehend how the elements of story, text, genre, and character interplay and impact upon each other. Through improvisation we use text and plot from the literary and dramatic works in the 2009 English and Drama curriculum then alter certain elements to observe the effect.
What if Shirley Valentine switched genders and locations? Shirley is Shane a man bored of his job as a baby photographer in New York he flies to Iceland and falls in love with a jam maker. Does this alter your sympathy for our hero if the gender or locations change?
Losing The Plot is based (with permission) on the hugely successful Perth show Barking Gecko’s Improvolicious.
